If there’s one thing Christmas 2016 taught me (apart from that festive hangovers and babies don’t mix), it’s that it’s finally time to say a tearful farewell to my trusty little hatchback and buy a proper dad’s car.
This is a lovely circular walk from the pretty seaside town of Wells-Next-The-Sea, taking in a busy harbour, a beautiful stretch of beach, and finishing with a stroll through tall pine trees.
Since my little boy can’t stand up yet, never mind ride a bike, this is a dad-only outdoor challenge for now. Biking 1500 miles in 12 months? I must be insane.
Probably the ultimate English starter peak for any young mountaineer, Catbells is a beautiful little hill with magical views across the northern Lake District.
