The sun came out on Sunday, which was a bit of a shock, so we stuffed Sonny into his baby carrier and took him to his first ever nature reserve at RSPB Fen Drayton Lakes in search of starlings.
I’ve always hated the winter. Dark nights and bad weather aren’t my idea of fun, but being stuck indoors is even worse! Fortunately my baby boy doesn’t seem bothered by the cold, so we’re all set for a winter of adventure.

One day in the future, hopefully many decades from now, I can picture myself rocking manically in an old folks’ home (or possibly a mental asylum), still haunted by the sinking realisation that the the Wheels On The Bus may never stop going round and round. Or that the Grand Old Duke of York will never stop marching his troops…
